LETS MAKE SOME NOISE!! The Magical Minds focused on sound waves; making beginning observations of pitch and volume in an experiment with tin foil, a few seeds, and ear plugs for Mr. H. :-) Having successfully completed their Animal Research Books (to be viewed on Auction Night) we venture into researching biographies. We also continued to build our multiplication skills, learning how to tackle double digit multiplication through partitioning.
Inquiry
Energy and Sound – Building Instruments:
Our goal for next week is to build instruments that change in pitch and volume. We begin by investigating which materials absorb, reflect and transmit sound. The Magical Minds will also inquire into how frequency and amplitude impact pitch and volume.
Math
Multiplication:
This week we wrap up our multiplication unit. We will learn how to use an algorithm to multiply two-digit numbers with ease. It is also the last week to earn multiplication stars, so practice your facts!
Reading/Writing
Nonfiction Change Makers
The Magical Minds have chosen their Change Maker Topics (People in history that have helped make a positive change). The end result is our Research Presentation; the journey begins with reading, reflecting and identifying significant events. Students will collect information, make note cards and sort relevant facts.
CURRENT EVENTS (in reversed alphabetical order)
4/9 Tuesday – Amiya
4/10 Wednesday – Alex
