The Magical Minds created their own timers using a paper cup and water. They carefully poked small holes into the bottom of their paper cups and timed how many drops they dripped in 30 seconds. The goal was to make a hole that would drip once every second, and they did it!
Tonight's homework is to use their timers to keep track of how long different tasks take. Today we timed how long it took for Gabriel to get something from Ed's office. We counted 35 drops of water while he was gone. Because we know each drop takes one second, we know it took him 35 seconds.
NOTE: As you can see from the homework sheet, I have asked the Magical Minds to write their times in a combination of minutes and seconds. Here is an example to help clarify:
